This play area has been integrated into the Buy & Fly Shop. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the Kid’s Corners are closed.

Contento has been a leading provider of catering for over 30 years. The enterprise is owned by an Austrian family (management in Klagenfurt) and currently employs 580 workers, which provide services based around the supply of food in approximately 40 kitchens in Carinthia, Lower Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Burgenland and in Vienna for approximately 100 clients. Every day around 12,000 people throughout Austria are fed with food from Contento.
Since May 2018, Contento has been operating a kitchen at Klagenfurt Airport, from which fresh meals are prepared daily for surrounding businesses, nursing homes, retirement homes, schools and kindergartens. In cooperation with the fine cuisine Kulterer GmbH, which operates the café and bistro Sybird at the airport, Contento also supplies the staff and visitors of the airport with fresh lunch menus.
“First and foremost, we are all passionate chefs,” says Peter Moser, Managing Director of Contento. “Our management staff comes from the hotel and catering industry and has worked for decades in the catering business. We also want to maintain this proximity in our daily work. ”
Social responsibility in purchasing comes to the kitchen, preferably by buying food from regional suppliers. This means that only Austrian dairy products and meat are used directly from Carinthia. This not only avoids long transport routes, it also helps maintain jobs in the region.
Of course, when it comes to food processing, the sustainability aspect also plays a major role, especially in the care sector, where people are catered for from childhood to the end of life. Here an awareness of how to use the resources necessary to leave a livable world for later generations is necessary. In practice, this means making recipes and menus that minimize food waste and packaging waste.
With the use of seasonal goods and a high proportion of organic products, both the sustainability and the contribution to a healthy diet should be ensured.

The Helicopter Police Station Klagenfurt was founded on 16th December 1959 and is situated in the southeastern part of Airport Klagenfurt. A highlight in its history was the operation of 2nd August 1960 when an injured mountaineer was rescued. The fixed wing airplane Piper PA 18 under the command of the then head of station was successfully landed on the highest Austrian landing place above the „Adlersruhe“ (Großglockner) at an altitude of 3.700m.
On 3rd April 1965 the first helicopter Bell 47 was stationed in Klagenfurt and has been, over the years, regularly replaced with newer, ever more higher-powered helicopters.
The first contract according to Art 15a-B-VG with a federal province was signed on 18th May 1984 by the then Minister of Interior Affairs , Karl Blecha, and the then Carinthian Governor, Leopold Wagner.
In 1999 the Ministry of Interior Affairs set up a branch for aircraft maintenance in Klagenfurt. Until the handing-over of air emergenies to ÖAMTC on 1st July 2001 about 18,000 rescue operations and about 7,000 operations by executive forces were carried out.
At the moment, 3 pilots serve at the Helicopter Police Station Klagenfurt, using a helicopters of the type Ecureuil AS 350 B1.
